I was wandering if any one has replaced there head lights for the quad head lights.. on my 1997 AWD 3.8L GC.. the head lights are very dull and need replaced I tried the mothers ball and Meguiars Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish.. all that schucks had.. it helped some but still cant see the road very well... I have a colt that has these quad head lights and it lights up everything.. so I have seen some of these quad head lights for these vans.. was wandering if any one has tried replacing them... seems like it would help alot... and maybe a set of fog lights also.. to be in front of the van on the road they look like they would work fine but when your driving you cant hardly see the road more than 20 ft in front of you.. so any info on this would be very helpful..

Have your tried the PERMATEX headlight cleaning kit? In reality you need a sheet/s of 800/1000/2000/2500 grit wet and dry sand paper (the black stuff) and a bottle of MEGUIRES Plastic cleaner (all othis is in the PERMATEX kit but will cost you three times as much as buying the individual items). Wet the headlight lens and then with the 800 grit paper thoroughly soaked, start hand
sanding (back and forth, not in a circle) and keep all very wet (I keep a bucket of water out and the sand paper soaking, also a cheap foam sponge to constantly wipe the headlight lens off). As the grime starts to come off, wipe all down and go to the next level (1000) of sand paper. Keep this up and finally you arrive at the 2500 grit to smooth everything out. After the sanding (do not use a sander, and do not use a lot of pressure) wash all down and let her dry. After she is dry take the plastic cleaner and go to work polishing (any direction is fine), let her dry and wipe her off and see if you need any more polishing. I did this with my 1996 Caravan a nd the lenses sparkle (of course I cannot compete with the HID bulbs, but then I did not pay a lot of money either).

I also used Meguires and polished the lense using my Dremel with a polishing wheel. You have to use light pressure and go over it a few times but it does the job pretty well

I was thinking of the sand paper route my self but wasn't sure on the grit... this info you have pasted would help alot of people with these plastic lenses.... thank you for posting it.. I was thinking of trying the HID Bulbs also but like you said very expensive.. ether way you go quad headlights or HID bulbs you cant win lol.. I will try this see what happens.. :smokin:

Just wanted to give you an up date here.. I did the sandpaper trick that Bear suggested.. and it worked perfectly... I didn't even have to go to the 2500 grit.. as no one had any in my area... just went to 2000 grit... and used one of thoughs mothers balls and MEGUIRES PlasticX plastic cleaner and polish they are crystal clear on the out side.. for some reason I have some pitting on the inside of the lens though but still they look and work a heck of a lot better than before.. thanks bear..:smokin:
