be very careful for the car should be up on ramps, and secured. Put emergancy brake on, and block wheels. It is done from under the car. Also disconnect your battery and tape the connectors good so you do not short smething out. Get a freind who knows how , and get a manuual for thirty bucks.

Looking from underneath there seems to be no room at all.
Someone mentioned having to drop the engine to change the alternator. Is this true or false.

You should be able to go under (disconnect battery negative cable and take off the drive belt), take off the plastic splash shield and then, above and to rear of alternator take off the mounting bolt, then remove the electrical connectors. Next move to front of alternatror near crankshaft pulley and take off the three mounting bolts and the bracket. Next hold on to alternator and take off the pivot bolt and then bring alternator out and off the car.

You don't have to drop the engine as you "heard". Thats just insanity to have to do that to change the alternator :shakehead
Bear gave some good advice, so follow that.
