I Just bought a Roadmaster Estate Wagon and it doesn't have the remotes. I would like to buy them and program them. I found a place online that sells them, but I need to know how to program them any help would be appreciated. A friend also has one and the dealer wants $90.00 for ONE!
My friend also bought a 99 Jeep cherokee and needs to program the remote....
Thanks!

If you push aside the molding on the rear driver side pillar post (just behind the rear window) you will find a small black circuit for initializing the keyless remotes. Take some copper speaker wire & bridge the two metallic nodes (completing the circuit). When this is done, you will notice the door locks will begin cycling automatically - click one button on each remote sequentially and the system, in turn, will store the code for each remote. Remove the wire & put the molding back in place - you're done.

On the Roadmaster there is a pillar right behind the second seat and the further back are windows (1 fixed large and one small that ccan be opened). Behind these windows is another pillar which has the lights for the back of the wagon. The tailgate window closes onto this pillar. Which pillar do you mean and how do you remove it?

Pillar is in rear, driver side corner of car & can quickly be removed after removing a few plastic screws (not the pillar behind the second row seat). I do not recall if the side compartment needed to be removed, but I don't think it did. If it takes you longer than two-three minutes to access you are looking in the wrong place: There is nothing to it.
