Noise when I turn my wheels

Hi Everyone,

I have a mechanical noise when I turn my wheels when standing still, like something hasn't been greased or something is loose. Do Integras have something funking with the steering assembly?

is it a grinding noise? have you checked your cv joints? integras have a sealed chassis so there are no lube points on them. check where they are sealed. the smaller joints may have broken.

i just had the same problem (i presume) with my prelude. Like scooter said, its proly your CV joints. Look under your ride. If the boot is cracked (there will be grease everywhere) then u need to either by a new axle assembly or have it repacked with grease. Theres a lot of grease in there and the joint gets really hot without the necessary lubrication. Hope this helps.

Yea, ur cv boot ripped if it is making a clicking noise. I just got mine changed. I suggest to pay a bit more and buy a whole new axel ($65 at Pep Boys), because the joint gets permanently funked up, depending on how long youv been driving with a ripped boot. I had our mechanic friend do it, so i cant really comment on how much it will cost. ALthough after watching him change my axel for the thrid time (twice in my old civic), i can tell you its a pretty easy thing to change.

Thanks for your replies. I checked my CV joints and they are intacted. It's not a CV clicking sound for sure. It must be something to do with my steering linkage if that's what it's called. I was wondering if there is something that commonly breaks in the Honda/Acura steering linkage. Any ideas? I have no good mechanics around here that I trust to give me an estimate, but they could do the job.

you've checked that you have enough power steering fluid, right?
