Well, I find both of the questions in the poll, hard to answer. I dont know about you, but if I sit and wait for everything to be clear, then I will wait forever. I signal my intentions, and hope that someone will let me in. I dont barge right in. make sense?

i hate driving in the city:mad: !!! driving home from work comming down the interstate i got grandma in front of me going about 45 mph in the fast lane (speed limit 65)then have a semi blocking me in. it just pisses me off dealing with all the slow mother fuckers and the ones that think there at the indy 500!!!!! riding my ass cause of the slow turd in front of me, plus the indy boys dont know what a turnsingle is! so i just hop into the fray and try to avoid the demelition derby drivers

My conduct is somewhat different from the choices given. I usually wait and hope that someone lets me in (as they are required by law), but if that doesn't happen, I push my way in, esp. if I really need to changge lanes. I almost always let another motorist in, but not if they are pushy straight away.

i look, then signal, the drive in..... while most people around here do the freakin opposite, they're retards, they start drivin in the lane, then they signal and after there already in the other lane then they look in there blind spot... more than once i have been cut off by these freakin idiots

and another thing that pisses me off, why the fuck do people who drive below the limit drive in the left most lane... that's a passing lane, you're supposed to stay to the right, especially if you're going slow.... i swear North America has the dumbest ass drivers in the world

What is another big piss off is grandad doing well below the open speed limit. In the distance you see the sign "passing lane ahead"...you think cool.
Then when you get to the passing lane the old prick speeds up so you have to go like fuck to pass him.........GOD THAT PISSES ME OFF !!!!:mad: :mad:

i jus look at my mirrors and go. i dont really give a shit. i jus nail the gas when goin onto the freeway. if i see an opening ill go before ur supposed to. im not waiting around for ne thing. plus since i have driven in the city so much im really good at using my mirrors and judging. when im in the city i jus move over whenever i want. no one uses tuen signals in the city ne wayz

people that don't use their turn signals should be ripped out of their car and shot in the back of the head..... about 2 weeks after i got the bimmer this old fuckin granny in a cadillac that could barely see over the dashboard just turns right in front of me just like a couple inches from hittin me and scratchin a brand new car... i gave her a good honkin :D then i slammed on the gas, pulled in front of her and pulled the old start slowin down in front of the person maneuver.... and to my dumbass surprise, it seemed like she was driving at normal speed, like she was fuckin enjoying it.......... so i just decided to jet

None of those apply to me. Here in New Brunswick, even at rush hour, our 4 lanes highways are so clear you can maintain at least the speed limit for hundreds of miles, or sometimes even get going 100+ MPH no problem. So I just check to make sure nobodys coming up in the fast lane, if so, I let them go, if not, I signal and pull over.

Its always good to have an availabel smart ass answer.

:( Your Bimmer got scratched? I hate old people drivers too, I'm just starting to drive (Standard and Auto) and the last thing I want is old people hindering my learning. For some reason they all drive Cadillacs or Buicks and hang 20 km/h below the limit. Just the other day , we passed a Lexus LS400 on the 401 with and old women drive, she had her turn signal on for about 3 kms, until she was out of sight. I guess she was going to turn into the guard rail. :mad:

ahahahah yeah right, i've never seen old people drivers on the 401 for some reason.... i think they're scared of the 401

atleast in the states the got Max. Speed limit and they also have a Min. Speed limit..... so if you drive to slow you get a ticket, cause driving slow and holdin up traffic i think will cause wayyyyy more accidents then drivin like 10 over the limit, but drivin smart
here in canada you can drive as fuckin slow as you want..... our cops here are fuckin retarded too.... i always see them driving in the passing lane slower than people in the right lane, they're blocking traffic!! and they're freakin cops, idiots!

Well, as my mom said, you don't signal for the cars you can see... you signal for the ones you can't see.

And I signal even in parking lots. :bloated:

I do as well - and don't see the problem with it? Good driving habit? Besides, it's not like a concious thing - becomes fairly automatic.

I usually signal. But lately I've noticed that if I'm just cruising around I'll forget it... :o So long as I'm paying attention to driving (which I will admit I don't always do) I will signal in advance.

Yeah, I'm one of those people whgo signals every friggin' time. Even if I was all alone in the universe driving along, I'd still signal.

I signal anytime I change lanes while driving. Signaling in the parking lot...it depends. If it is crowded I do, and if someone is backing out and I want their spot I signal to let others know I intend on taking that spot.

A signal can make the difference in whether or not you are at fault in an accident. I got rearended nearly 10 years ago when I was turning into my driveway at work. The guy who hit me tried to tell the cops I didn't use my signal and that i just slowed down in my lane for no reason. About 8 people jumped out of the crowd and told the cop I had my signal on and had already started my turn in the driveway when I was hit. 2 of my coworkers had witnessed it as well. Needless to say he got a nice n nasty ticket.

I signal fanatically. It's kind of ridiculous. Like Boingo said, parking lots and everything. I can't stand people that don't use their signals. I cringe when I am in a car with a friend, and they commit a driving error, like not signalling. I think the world, and particularly this country, would be a better place to live if people respected the rules of the road. Within a reasonable extent, I have no problems with speeders. But people that don't use signals, people that drive in the left hand lane when they shuld be using that lane for passing only, people that drive with their brights on and "blind" on-coming traffic, etc. ruin driving for those of us that make it our civic duty to respect the rules of the road. I would love to see these rules enforced nore stringently by police.

Mentioned about the grandad who drives at 60 and then speeds up for a passing lane...

I'll add two more from my trip to/from Tutukaka:

- The idiot in the Escort Van who insisted on slowing to 60 km/h around 80 km/h indicated corners, driving at 80km/h and then when I reached a passing lane 'SWERVED ACROSS BOTH LANES' to prevent me from passing him.

- The even stupider idiot who decided to cross the no passing lines, across into the passing lane I was using coming the other way - to pass a semi-trailer around a blind corner. I had 100 metres of distance from the moment I saw him and with an estimated combined closing speed of more than 200km/h I had about a second to react and swerve left into the stream of traffic going much slower on my left. After missing his wing mirror by inches I then had to swerve back out to avoid running into the back of the car I had swerved behind due to the speed differential. It was a very very close call and if I had panicked it would either have been a long time in a hospital bed for some time or a visit to the coroner.
