Gran Turismo drifting

This is so cool, my bud owns a P2 and GT3. I have gotten all sorts of cool cars, and tweaked the suspension until they are drift pigs. My big problem is when I start to countersteer, the only way I can get a high enough angle of drift to countersteer through the corner is to turn way more than I should. If I don't turn that much, when I countersteer my car pulls out really fast towards the outside. I don't lose control or anything, it just suddenly pulls a couple lanes to the outside.
Any Gran Turismo drift advice?

do a bigger turn in and get more understeer so you can accelerate sideways ............... Bunta style would be a turn in light a cigarette and then accelerate out whilst changing gears

Sweet. All I want is the Shigeno(Initial D) Trueno, but it's already been won and sold.
I think I'm running too much negative camber on the front wheels, I can't get them to understeer unless I really get sideways, like 90 degrees, and then I lose a ton of speed.
Thanks guys

sheesh ok while your busy going sideways like a circus freak... i'll be cutting to the inside towards the apex in my '96 Corvette Grand Sport.
with tweaking they do wonders!
Or better yet, I'll bust out the C5R with 1100Hp and just lap you.
OR Even better than the C5R i'll bust out 1 of the 3 Formula 1 cars i have and just go nutzoid around the track.
If you drift... i will win.
But the best car i found for drifting fun is the Integra Type R, just press the handbrake, countersteer and drift like mad. With practice you can slide the car almost completely sideways down a straight away.
Or for even more fun, attempt to rally race in the Older RX-7, make sure the suspension is really mushy and you have enough travel. And dont use too much throttle or else you'll end up like you're on the Tea Cups ride at Disneyland.
When im not futzing with my Nova, im playing games. It saves me money by not going outside and spending it... :D

Buy a Silvia spec R or a R34 GTR and add only suspension and simulation tires (for the silvia, you can get a chip, port polish, or/and engine balancing to increase power, but not anything that would affect the powerband). Set both traction controls to 0. Go to "run and setting" in your garage and practice on the "complex string" course.
You'd be surprised how quickly you get used to it.
BTW: a manual transmission helps too.

know whats fun?
go into 2 player, then challenge your buddy to a 1/4 mile race...
just go to the 'test course" ya know? the big oval?
yeah, so when it starts, line up with your friend...and gun it.
its good fun, race till the 400m mark and shut it down... turn around and do it again!
you cant really do timed races cause the clock doesnt reset... so its like a street light to street light race.
yayyyyyy.

I've always seen draggin as something to do at the track (or on the street, but that would be illegal  ). I like drifting in GT because when I crash, I still have a car!

ummm no porche's
just RUF's
they have a RUF GT2 or something like that. Its decent, but handles funny to me. AWD cars feel sluggish, and like they dont know whether to oversteer or understeer. I dont think the game gives them the credit they deserve.

Are you kidding? The TVR Speed 12 is crazy fast! It's also 1800lbs, and has full race downforce... There are many fast cars in GT3 that are not Japanese.
BTW, AWD cars are really easy to drift in GT3. Use sim tires, and stiffen/soften your springs/shocks as necessary...
