I am looking for a program that is made for specificly orginizeing my mp3 / other music and or video files that has a built in player that will allow me to create playlists and orginize them, change the title / artists and all that good stuff.
I have over 3000 song files on an external hard drive and i was useing itunes, but with the external hard drive it doesnt want to work anymore with that.
I switched to windows media player, worked fine but i didnt like the orginization features of it.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I am not looking for a program to download music, just store and orginize it in, thanks!

Well I like iTunes for my music and either VIDEOLAN or WMP OS X(which is kinda bad) for my videos. I organize my videos myself.

What OS are you using?

Windows I assume?

I used Media Monkey for a while and liked it better than wmp. Now I just use the software that came with my Creative Zen because it interfaces better with my Zen.

winamp is pretty awesome. i got stuk with 11 beta by accident. 10 is better, but after awhile you get used to it. the only problem i have with it now is that some old skins dont work for it.

organization works though. it seperates artists or songs or w/e in their own little...um, division i guess. it's an acquired thing it seems.

EDIT: Media Monkey looks like Ares, Kazaa, or Bearshare without the ability to download.

mix and match. while bearshare has more downloads and is more reliable, i think, i use it then add to WMP or Winamp whenever i want. Although bearshare doesnt seperate files, they're all just clumped, Ares did have a recently downloaded folder then others that it automatically organized. So i use to use that as I needed. A lot easier, but I also had WMP 10 at the time which was a lot easier to use. 11 just takes time, but still can be frustrating.

Out of all, I'd have to go with Winamp then just use your p2p network as a seperate area for recently downloaded until you want to add it to winamp or w/e. easiest way i found out.
