01 Remote Entry & Key

I recently bought an 01 Durango. It has the key with the chip in it and I only got one key when I purchased the truck. I assume since I only have one key that I will have to take it to the dealership to get another key programmed. I would also like to know if there is a way I can find out if the truck originally had a remote to unlock the doors. I figured if it did, I'd just buy a key and remote from e-Bay and have them programmed at the dealer. Any help is appreciated. THANKS
