Hi:
I have a 2000 LS v8, yesterday the sunroof wouldn't come down out of the vent position. I looked and noticed that there are broken pieces inside the track of the sunroof. I was able to push the sunroof down but now the window won't open or vent. Two questions, is the track and rail available for purchase and if so where? Second, is it hard to remove the headliner on the ceiling of the car? Thanks for your help.

Per the factory service manual for a 2002 LS, "NOTE: The roof opening panel is available as an assembly or a track and rail assembly. The track and rail assembly must have the roof opening glass and the roof opening panel opening shield transferred from the old unit. The roof opening panel assembly can be installed without transferring parts from the old unit."
I'm not sure where the best place to purchase this assembly would be though.
As for the difficulty, if you send me a private message with an e-mail address for you that can accept attachments along with your request, I'll send you a couple of PDFs on the procedure.

Well I called the dealer and they want $750.00 :disappoin for the rail. Does that sound right? I can't believe I can't find this part anywhere. Any other thoughts? Thanks!

Never had to buy one, so I have no idea what price range to expect. You may want to check Fast Parts Network for their price on the OEM part, but it will probably not be a lot less than dealer prices.
