I have a completly stock civic CX. I remember reading that I should get the valves adjusted at 50K, which i just hit. Anyone know if im going to funk up my car if i let the valve adjusting go for 10 more k? Also any idea how much it costs to get this done?!

Thanks!

are they tapping? if not they should be fine. just don't over rev all the time (or ever for that matter)

Not sure how much it costs to have them adjusted. but it's easy to do yourself.

for my 97 civic ex, my haynes manual says adjust valve clearances every 15k, is this true? sounds like b.s. maybe a misprint, i thought you adjust about 80k or something. can someone shed some light on the subject? b/c my car has about 82k and i have yet to adjust them.

Valve adjustments if done right take about an hour! Most shops like ours take 1 Hour we charge about $65 for a full valve adjustment. Don't get ripped off.

Most exhaust valves are the ones that usually need the adjusting!

If you don't here any funny clicking in your head your all right, but its always good to keep regular oil changes and air filtration clean!
