...Is it considered 'normal' thesedays for 14-15 year olds to be aimlessly roaming the streets at 2 am on a Sunday night/Monday morning, drunk on bourbon supplied by family, smoking dope ?

If that is classed as normal behaviour nowdays then I say the world is FUCKED UP:(

No way should 14 year olds be out at that time on a Sunday let alone be drinking and/or smoking weed:bloated:

I've seen 12 year olds hustling on these streets. Oh, on any given day.

I wouldn't say they were 'aimlessly' wandering the streets, I think they do have aims in what they do - to hurl as much abuse as possible at passers-by and generally cause as much trouble as they can.

As un-normal as it should be, sadly, it is normal. They also think they can kick everyones ass at any time. Doesn't it piss you off?

not my thing personally. when i drink or smoke, i stay at home, and i dont do it in excess. But the ones who roam around drunker than a skunk and high as a kite, thinking they can kick the ass of god - well well all know how they end up eventually. So no worries t-naki. that filth will be weeded out by the stronger ones eventually.

o.k......question 2......I know that young guys tend to congregate after dark to 'hang out' and cause trouble, but what about young women?

young women..... hmm.... i would think that nights they would chill at their friend's house, while the guys chill outside :p

It was normal for me at that age. Some of my fondest memories are from when I was a drunken teen.

You mean your no longer a drunken teen?

About 500m from my house is Paradice ice skating, also know as East Aucklands underage night club.

About 2am on a Friday night its quite common to see 1-200hundred 13-16yr old teenagers wondering around the streets.
Many of them are Drunk, and every now and then a few of them are caught fornicating in bushs and behind parked cars etc, or in the toilets of the near by gas stations.

And it will only get worse untill parents start to take some responsiblity for having kids and spend more on them than just money, and society takes some responsiblity and provides more in the way of entertianment than TV, Videos, and under age rages.

Can't say for Aus, but in NZ the drinking age was recently lowered to 18 in the face of overwhelming law avoidance by teenagers.....now we have 13-15 year olds getting their hands on hard liquor instead of 16-18 year olds.

Ah yes! The days of drinking when no one cared! I miss Europe! Still don't like beer though! :bloated:

My friends and I were always more about the isolated parties that mostly just included ourselves staying at the "Cardboard Spaceship" (don't ask) and while we were in High School... Rules were 1) No drinking 2)No drugs 3)No sex 4)You must accept everybody 5)You have to sign the wall. And mostly we abided by them.

Now the group is smaller, but we still just prefer to cause trouble within our small group than out in public.

I have to ask - cardboard spaceship?

Sounds strict at the cardboard spaceship.

It was an apartment that was built beneath the unattached garage of my friend's house. We partied there. We'd have the most awesome times (yes, even without all the "stuff") there. The key was that you could arrive under a little influence of a substance, but not do the substance there... ;) Trust me, we had plenty of "goths" in our group, and they wouldn't have come unless they could come high.

As for the name... I honestly forget the story of how it came to be, but it was just one of those things that stuck. Oh, and everyone who partied there is a "space monkey"... again, don't ask ;)

I pictured some poorly made painted spaceship in a tree or something.

Space Monkey? OK, sometimes its best to stay in the dark. ;)

Hmm, it is sad now that its 13 year olds out on the street. Hell I was 13, 4 years ago and i would of never just wandered the streets getting drunk and high. Its rather sad, and in the case of NZ something needs to be done about it.

I was in queen st last night and its just sad to see hundreds of fucked up pre-teens trying to act cool and get drunk. That is when the police should get involved, teenagers shouldn't be out on the street in these situations!

If you're going to get drunk, do it at a friends, or some party. Don't get drunk out on the street.

Heres my thoughts- Once you are arrested for a felony involving public drunkeness and are under 18, you get a 10pm curfew slapped on you :D

drinking age in Aussie is the same as here 18.

It is good to see the mayor of Palmeston North calling for the pricks in parliment to raise the drinking age again following the fatal stabbing of a youth in (yet again) Highbury

New Zealand would be in quite alot of strife if that happened.

Atleast the stupid ones would run out infront of cars as they want too stare into the oncoming light.
