91P10Nismo, I use sanding cloths that range from 2400-12,000 grit sold in hobby stores. Then I'll use an automotive polishing compund and then Zymol auto wax (smells like bananas and coconut mmmmmm.....). This usually brings it to a good shine. You have to use the sanding abrasives exactly to instructions though. Good luck

Hey Mate.
When i order your kits you may want to get some rubbing compound and wax from Tamiya in your order also when i send it.

I use:
Meguiar's Fine-Cut Cleaner (#2) to smooth out the surface.
Meguiar's Body Shop Hand Polish to polish the model.
And lastly followed by a few coats of wax.

FC in TO, I've been meaning to get some automotive polish for some time. How's the Meguiars work? Got anything to compare with (Tamiya compound, Meguiars Scratch-X, etc.)? :)
