oil pan gasket - 96 taurus

I think I found a way to keep that oil pan gasket from popping out. It always pops out by the passenger side where it makes that half circle dip around the flywheel (or whatever you call that thing). I guess it's because there is such a long space where there are no bolts. what I did was to take a hammer and socket extension (a screwdriver would work too) to bang the outside edge of the pan where it makes the lowest dip. That bent the pan up to hold in the gasket in. so far so good. I know there is a new gasket that doesn't pop out but I'll never be able to get the exhaust down to do the job myself.

The exhaust would be a pain on an older model like that. I did one once before, but never again! The 2000 and up models are easier.
