Size of Rims between Fujimi and Aoshima?

pls comment on the size of rims bulit from Fujimi and Aoshima. I used to buy fujimi rims, but i figure out that the size from fujimi is just a bit bigger (less than 1-2mm) than the ones (come from fujimi kits). I bought a set of Aoshima (BBS DTM) and found it is much bigger and more IMPRESSED me (i dont want to pay 10 usd for a stock size rims :finger: )

I recently bought the WEDS005 from fujimi and it sucks small as expected again......I like to perform some research before I invest on Fujimi rims again :finger:

The inch rating of car model is just for reference, so when you want to know the actual size, you really have to measure.

Aoshima 18 in is about 20.5 mm
Fujimi's 18 in such as Volk, Ruf, and Enkei are 21 mm
The biggest one is Aoshima's 19 in, and it's 22.0 mm

Both Fujimi and Aoshima makes 17in, and those are relatively smaller (less than 20 mm dia.) , and the tires are not so low profiled as 18 or 19.

Also, if you fit the tires, meant for a 17 in rim on those 18 in or 19 in rims, it will increase the overall diameter, and it looks nice when fitted to a car body.

If the tires look to fat on 17" scale wheels there's a solution. Take your Dremel (or similar power tool). Attach the wheel (w/ tire on it of course) to the Dremel w/ a shortened toothpick or similar object. Then turn it on to its slowest speed (I stress this unless you want wheels shooting across the room). Gently lower the spinning wheel onto sandpaper (2000 grit should be ok) and shave down the tire. Stop occassionally to check your progress and make sure the wear is even. This will lower the profile so that they look better on your cars. You won't have the look of brand new tires anymore, but who wants that if they look like crap in the frist place? You guys probably think I'm nuts for doing this, but try it yourself on some old tires and see...

ps- If you do it on the high speed setting, you can get them smoking at times. Then all hell breaks loose as it ricochets off your head and into the wall. :D
