In the last year I've gone through a few pairs of wiper blades. It seems like they don't last very long. Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent set that will last more then a month or two? Also, I'v heard that rain-x is bad for wiper blades, is this true? (I plan on stripping the windows and re-applying rain-x, but if this is bad for the window then ill skip the rain-x.)

Also, my car has about 49k miles on it. At what mileage should I look into replacing the plugs/wires, etc. I am thinking of giving it a tune up soon and I really don't want to play a lot of money to someone when I can do it myself. I know of plugs/wires, air filter (already changed 400 miles ago), fuel filter, pcv valve, and distributer parts. Any other recommendations? I'll prolly be doing this in the next 1000-1500 miles.

One last question, any easy way to get rid of break squeel? I don't want to take the calipers off to put brake goo on the pads (cant remember the name of it) unless I really have to.

Thanks
Jeff

I have had 2 sets on my 05, I got the OEM Honda replacement rubbers. They still skip at times depending on amount of water present. I thought (could be wrong) that the originals were black and the replacements are grey. Not very impressive and I have heard of other complaints. I may end up trying a set of Anco Aerovantage, they have worked out well on past vehicles.
If you have a DX/LX you can upgrade to the EX wiper switch with variable delay. That helps some.

The plugs are the new type and are rated at 110k miles. I will most likely will remove and inspect and maybe replace mine at around 50-70k.
The 7th gen Civics use coil packs on top of the plugs so there are no other ignition parts to replace for maintenance.
Fuel filter does not require replacement.

Have the pads been replaced ?? I always use disc brake quiet goo. If not they always drive you crazy.
