you are 16 and its your 1st car so i wouldnt suggest anything too fast. maybe something like these

acura integra gsr
honda prelude si
toyota celica gt
toyota mr2(this will make them jealous)
nissan 240sx
honda civic si
chevy cavileer(sp) z24
ford probe gt

this is assuming you are on a budget of around 10k. All of these cars are decently quick, handle pretty good, and provide an entertaining drive as well as being pretty reliable and fuel efficient.

This all depends on your personal preferences and your price range. It also relies on what your friends think is cool, because in the end thats what really matters :shakehead, not functionality and value.

I could give you many recommendations for a perfect first car but first you need to provide more information, such as:
- Price range
- Car type (coupe, sedan, hatchback, etc)
- Engine size/type (4 cylinder, V6, V8, turbo)
- Desired fuel economy

well i can probably spend anywhere from 10-11 thousand and i either want a coupe or a sedan and i would prefer a 4 cylinder and i just want something with good fuel economy

I would say an MR-2 (2nd gen) they are sweet looking, and get good fuel economy. also possibly a fiero gt.

If you want a fun car with good fuel economy, then a 4 cylinder coupe from Honda or Toyota would suit you best. For $10-11K you might be able to get your hands on a Civic SI, and you can probably find a good Integra pretty easily. Like stated before, an older Toyota MR2 would be loads of fun to drive and own. Japenese 4 bangers are much more economical than their american counterparts to own and operate, so keep that in mind while shopping around.

Another note, since you're 16, I'd suggest bringing your parents along when you want to test drive, most dealerships won't let anyone under 18 drive without their parents with them.

Go for a base Pontiac Solstice or a Saturn Sky. They're pretty cheap for their looks and performance. These will definately make your friends jealous.
