Hi Everyone!
Got the Neon running for about two weeks until the water pump broke. :grinyes:
I figured since I'll be changing the water pump, I might as well change the timing belt and all the drive belts, too. Only thing is that I can't get to the alternator with these hands of mine. There's only a few inches of space. Is it best to go from underneath the car? Should I dismount the engine and let the right side hang low? What's the best strategy?
Edit: Woops! It's a 1995, by the way

You should be able to get to it through the top its a pain in the ass. You might be able to take off the wheel and splash gaurd and get to it.

I find it easier to get to it from underneath.

From the top is absolutely impossible, even with my average-sized hands.
I think I'm going to have to spend some money and buy a decent jack. My current jack cost $20, and doesn't really raise the car high enough for major repairs. I put the car on stands, but my current jack can't lift the car up high enough to allow the stands to be extended. I hate putting my cheap jack on blocks to get the car higher because something always goes wrong. :2cents:
