The 3.4L Pushrod Camaro (92-95) motor or the 3800 series 97+ motor? According to West Coast Fiero, the 3800 series is cheaper to install.

Sorry, I left out the actual question. What I meant to say which swap is the easiest and cheapest to do the 3.4L or the 3800 series.

The 3.4L is almost a direct swap, requiring the move of the starter to the other side of the block. You can use the Fiero intake system on the 3.4L.
The 3800 requires the donor car's ECM and some wiring modifications. If you want a maunal transmission, you will need to have the chip reprogramed as most 3800s come with an automatic transmission.

You could also use the shortblock from a FWD 3.4, and the heads from your 2.8 (same as the heads on the Camaro 3.4). That way, you just bolt it in, without having to relocate anything. Some of the Montanas had the iron-headed 3.4 in them, which would just require the use of the intake, exhaust and distributor from the Fiero. High-end performance will suffer a bit, as the injection and plenum are for a smaller engine.
