taurus engine dies

1995 taurus 3.8 engine dies when it is very hot outside. Acts like it cannot get fuel, maybe vapor lock. This has to be a problem more people have experienced. The temp guage in the car is normal temp. Have to let car sit till it cools down before it will start again. If you do not wait long enough it may start but dies again in a quarter mile or so.:banghead:

You may have a fuel pump going out. You may want to pick up a fuel pressure guage from the local parts store and keep it in the car (probably the trunk once used to keep the fumes in the cabin down). Next time it dies hot on you, measure the fuel pressure and see if it is in spec or not.
