Im lookin at buyin a 2000 eclipse gt with 89000 on it for $9000 and it comes with a new set of tires also, its loaded 4 disc changer, sunroof , power seats, etc. first of all is it worth it?? it does need a paint job because on the roof its slightly faded and one rust spot about the size of a dime but anyways i took it out for a test drive and i steped on it on it to see what it had for power and once it got to about 4000 rpm it made a weird noise and then i lost power, but once it was back under 4000 it would be fine again. i didnt know if it was some kind of safety crap or something seriusly wrong with it?? thanks in advance!!

Yea, don't do it. you'll find beter deals with less mileage. just keep your eye open and don't jump the gun. nothing good happens when you rush something like buying a car. believe me, i've been there.

Mine's a '00, below excellent rating for Kelley blue book, and it's worth just over $8k.

I wouldn't do it if you have to get a new paint job.

I paid 12,000 for my 2000 GT about 7 months ago with 39k on it, in excellent condition. I think I paid a 1,000 or 2 to much but I just had to have it. If I was you I dont think I would pay anymore then 8,000 for it. Tell them to put a newpaint job on it,fix the intake and anything else that may be wrong and then you'll give them 9,000.

definitley not for 9 grand. I bought my '00 gt back in 2004 for $9500 with 24,500 on the clock. You can definitely find a better deal.

Thanks alot guys i got him down to 8000 so im pretty sure im gunna buy it, and thanks for the suggestion of the intake stickin to the hood im pretty sure thats whats wrong with it because the two fasteners that hold the intake down are not even in it.
