need help for axod tranny

I have a 1992 3.8 liter v-6 ford taurus it will go for about a minute or two then it feels like it 's in neutral you can shift in 1,2,drive or reverse and it does nothing but if you kill the engine and start it even in neutral it will drive again with the same symptoms! If i have to get a another tranny do you have to pull the engine also? On that model,or is it electrical?

If you get another transaxle for it, the engine has to come out too while you're replacing it. Once they are both out, separate the engine and trans and put the new trans with the engine and drop back in.
