EGR Block-off Plate

Looking for 1 block off plate for my headers. I got them with emissions stuff, but the fitment actually sucks and can't keep the EGR tube to stay in the header, so I'm gonna block it off at the tubes. Does anyone know where I can get the single piece on the right?

And anyone have any suggestions to blocking off the tube that runs to the back of the manifold. I don't want to pull the manifold off to block it off there, so I just want to block off the tube.

I am sure if you email that guy he will sell you just the one plate but if that doesn't work out let me know and I can make you one. I have some spare aluminum and the old tube trace it out from.

The intake manifold end isn't blocked off? If you don't have the other two area's blocked off that is necessary to do.

No, I don't want to pull of the intake manifold to block them off in the rear, I just want to block off the hose that connects to the passenger side header because that is where the leak is coming from. The fitment of the header and that EGR tube sucks horribly, so just want to block off the hose and the header provision.

You don't need to remove the intake manifold to remove the EGR and install the block off plates. You just won't be able to get a look what your working on but it can still be done.

Aren't there 2 places I have to block them off at?
I was actually out there looking at them and I could see the one on the passenger side and both bolts, so I guess it wouldn't be too bad...

You need to remove and block off the egr valve which is on the driver side back of the intake manifold and then the other end of that hose from the back of the passenger side. Then install the two place and plug egr vacuum with a cap on the intake manifold. Here is what the back of the intake manifold looks like though

Thanks for the pics, but it looks like it will take me a long time if I don't take the manifold off...this car likes to fight me every step of the way.

I put my plates on with the intake manifold in the car... it's not that hard, you just lay on the engine and start your work blind

And should I soak those bolts that hold the EGR stuff on the manifold with penetrating oil before I start my work?

They sell PCV vacuum caps at every auto parts store I have ever been in. They usually keep them in the help section. Any time you are dealing with bolts or nuts that see exhaust heat, its always a good idea to spray with some penetrating oil. Since you don't want to remove the intake manifold (which would be necassary if you break a stud) make sure to soak pretty good and wait like 15 minutes for it to soak in before you attemp to take those nuts off.
