Drove vehicle all day with no starting problem. In fact never had a starting problem unless battery related.I don't hear the humm of the fuel pump from rear of vehicle. Checked fuse. O.K.

Is it obvioulsy a dead fuel pump. 195K miles.

Your response appreciated.

Might not be dead..ck the connectors at the pump..ck the wires to the front..ck the fuse box as well..it may not be that you need a new pump at all . Have the same situation here , am going to go over it all this weekend..by the way someone told me on another board that one from a Rabbit ( 70's ) will work..so that means Bosch will have one..or ck with Auto Zone hear they have them for under 100.00 vs the 200.00 + from the dealer or VicBrit..
