Hello all... I have a simple question. I just got a 325ci and would like to know how many miles should i drive to fully break in my car. I'm still at about 150 miles. Ok thanks for the help :D

i believe in most cars it is baout 500 miles, i think that is true of bimmers as well, mine had a sticker on the windshield that said how many miles but now i cant quite remember what it said . . .

Hi !
I thought that new cars NOT (like the old ones several years ago) have to be drivin carefully in the beginning. Normally all Engines will be lined up on a "workbench" and run there on different RPMīs, after that a oilshift i neccessary (to remove all the "grains" which schould persist after building the engine) and THEN it will be assembled into the car. Thatīs what my BMW-dealer told me. So hes advice to me was just to drive 100-200 km and then...."give īem rope !" :-))

And the car likes it, thatīs for sure ;-)

It tells you in the manuel. If I remember correctly it goes like this.No hard braking for the frst 300 miles.Donot exceed 100 mph or 4500 rpm and fluctulate your speed for the first 1250 miles.donot use your cruise control for the first 1250 miles.I hope this helps you, enjoy your car like the rest of us bmw owners and good luck

I hear a lot about break in on new cars. Seems the best advice is to drive it the way you like driving and get in used to you but vary the speeds and no hard breaking for the first couple of 100 miles.
