I was pretty set on the srt-4 but I could get a 02 IS300 for about the same price as a 05 srt. The IS300 is a nicer car and you can do a 2JZ swap pretty easy i hear and its rwd whereas the srt is 3 years newer with less miles. Any opnions?

well what do you want?? i'd personally go for the IS /c it's nicer...but that's just me...it lacks the power it should have...but a 2JZ swap is alright, but you could just turbo the 1JZ that's in it...

but the Neon Srt-4 is on, fast from factory, faster than the IS...but 2 totally different cars...i like the luxery of the IS...i test drove an 04 IS300 with 3 miles on it...very nice...smooth all the way up to 120 with no noticable sound or vibration

but i like this 2JZ swap with NOS

lol...

I'd pick the Lexus, just because the owners of them aren't assholes in my city, so I've had better experiences and get to see one up close a lot. They are rear wheel drive, but a swap already in mind? I was thinking this would have been a reliable daily driver or something for you when I clocked on this thread lol. Plan on making the car eater or just one down the road?

You can do really nice things with the IS300.. and it's not overly done by everyone else.. not in my city anyways.

I've driven a couple of IS300's when i worked at a toyota dealership and its my favorite lexus. I'd definitely pick it over the SRT-4.

The pros and cons are equal in my eyes on one hand you have a fwd turbo car that has alot of potential and is pretty easy to get power from and is cheap on the other hand you have a more expansive car that is more luxerious and is rwd but with limited power due to being n/a

n/a

that should say a lot

that is true, the biggest choice is boosted or rwd because both are cool but I have a hard time going n/a but I'm going to at least test drive one to see what its like

Shit. Power and FWD or not so much and RWD. I dont know what I would do. I personally dont like IS300's but I like RWD. I dont particularly like mopar (or domestics in general) but I like power. Its hard man. I got it... save and buy an Evo :p. Heres another option... get a newer WRX. Turbo AWD and newer. Becareful though, the trannies eat ass for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My buddy has been through like 3 already.

buy the srt 4 i have a 03 is300 with around 27k miles on it and ive already had it at the dealer like 6 times for shit leaking and sensors going bad. i drive it like im old cause the damn thing was expensive but yea they are nice get decent gas mileage, they have tons of room and drive like your on air. another thing is it isnt really that great in the winter

So how many motors have you fucked up? Are you in school? Some peope need reliable cars because they dont always have time/money to fix them. Sure a new car is expensive, but atleast those payments are fixed. Most people dont have the time or money right on hand to rebuild/buy a new enginem when theirs suddenly takes a shit. I dont know if you are serious or sarchastic, but DSMs are great weekend or street strip cars but I would never recommend one for DD purposes. Unless of course its NT but you might as well buy a Cavalier or a Honda :p.
