Question, I have an 04 Trailblazer LT, with a stock delco radio installed. I do not have a Bose system or on-star. I installed an aftermarket radio with the special $80.00 adapter so my warnings and chimes could be heard. Recently it started acting up. When driving it is fine, but when I put the car into park and pull the brake handle the radio goes off. Once the key is removed, the radio will come back on until the door is opened, then it goes off. Today it happen as usually but, when I exited the car the chime keep on ringing. I had to start the car a few times to wipe it out.
I wanted to put back in my stock radio, but someone said it will have to be programed by the dealer, is this true? Also though about upgrading to the Bose factory radio, can this be done as well or will programing need to be applied. Please advise with any help. I greatly appreciate it!

Wish I could help ya. There are sooo many electronics that run thru the body control module and tie into the factory head units these days that you never know what will happen. IMO- unless it's a direct plug and play swap, I personally wouldn't touch it on my daily driver.

I just upgraded to the Bose 6 disk cd changer. I installed it and the error message I get on the radio is LOCKED. I know this is part of the anti-theft system. How does one go about resetting the radio? Do I really have to take it to the dealer to be done? Is there a bypass?
Please let me know!

this used to be an issue after changing batteries on hyundai vehicles back when i was a tech, what we would do is call the dealership that we knew on a personal basis and either give them the vin and get the code or the sequence to fix the "locked" message.
noadays i have not a clue on what to do =/
