Less than 2 weeks until the TX3SI meet! I'm really excited, mainly because I'm gutting my pre-cats and putting in red leather seats tomorrow. Plus, my friend Julian just finished his 3.5l montero engine swap and I got a ride in it tonight. Mind you, he's breaking in his new gorgeous clutch, but all in all its pretty quick. We're taking bets, and I think it's gonna run ~14.8

Well, a stock DOHC would run around a 15, and Julian's launches aren't something to be bragging about. If any of you remember, I've beaten him to 60mph from a dead stop. So, we're thinking 14.8, maybe a 14.7. If he's lucky, he might pull off a 14.5. We'll see.

i've practiced my launching quite a bit. my tires are so worn they're almost like slicks! with my LSD insert, dp, test pipe, fipk....i would like to throw down a 14.5, but i'll be happy with anything under 15.

I would've been happy with an 11sec pass.......

thats what its capable of, but they usually do more like 13.5-6 bone stock

make sure your friend is breaking in his clutch the SMART way! do not let him dump the clutch for at least 500 miles.
