96 radiator question

So I got some quiksteel to try to bond my overflow nozzle back onto the radiator but I just cant get to it good enough. Anyone got an idea how much it would cost me at a shop to get the nozzle fixed. They'll surely tell me they hafta replace my radiator or something drastic. Im just wondering what I should be in store for. Its the nozzle that comes out of the top left of the radiator where the overflow hose clamps onto it. I really dont wanna throw too much into this car. I just need to keep it goin for a few more months

Go to Lowes and see if they have a threaded fitting that has a hose connection on the other end. Drill a hole a little smaller than the threads where it mounts and use the epoxy as a thread sealer.

problem is, i cant get enough room. ive been told that the radiator only comes out the bottom so id hafta remove the whole thing. i was told 2day that itd cost me $4-600 to replace the radiator. one guy said an hour or so, the other guy said no way, 6 hours labor. any idea about how much labor?

Check around.
Local salvage yards.
Or check your local auto parts some new one low as around a 100$.
Or call 1 800 radiator

If you are able to remove the radiator, it shouldn't cost too much for a radiator shop to install a fitting.

I wonder if by using jack stands, do you get the car high enough in the front to pull the rad out from the bottom? or is the only feasible way to have a lift?

I changed the Radiator out on my 2000 a few weeks ago.

Jack it up as High as you can and put the jackstands on the places made to jack and it should be high enough

I dont follow. wouldnt i need at least 2 1/2 feet? How high did you have to get it up before you had enough room. i just took my car to a shop, but if their estimate is too high, I may hafta find a way to do it myself. i have access to jackstands, but im sure they only go up a foot and a half at best. any help...................

AC does not have to come off and you do not have to break any lines loose.

I have a Rousch Low Profile Jack I bought at Sams CLub.

I put it under the sub Frame , jacked up as high as it would go then put the jackstands under the factory points

So theyre tryin to rip me a couple extra hundred? I guess I cant blame em. my friend is on helio castroneves' pit crew(for real...formula 1) and I emailed him the repair guide instructions and he said I should be able to do it in a few hours. said its real easy. about how high did you need to get it before you were able to get it out? 2'? 3?
