Transmission Question

I have a '95 sonoma 5 speed, 2.2 engine. My second gear in my transmission grinds unless i am going really slow and ease it in or if i double clutch it. My boyfriend might be able to get me a new transmission for it. Will a transmission out of an '89 s-10 with a 2.5 fit?

Welcome to AF. Contact a local salvage yard, they have interchange guides that will list crossovers such as this, but I believe it will not work.
