ok i got 2000 GTP with 95k on it. just a simple cold air intake system. when im stomping on it rather perf. shift is on or off at the last couple hundred rpms it slips and it feels like its hesitating. do you think its the cars traction control kicking in because it shifted to the next gear and the tires are spining...or do you think i need a tune or...im kinda lost. i just bought the car like 3 weeks ago and it was perfect.

I'd start with the simple stuff like spark plugs and ignition wires. Basic tune up - fuel filter, etc. It doesn't sound like a traction control problem but you never know.

it has the stock AC delco wires on it. and at 95k i would rec. doing a tune up anyways huh. also after i put my new air intake on the SES light came on. do you think because im using the 9" K&N that its getting to much air and setting off my A/F ratio

If these are OEM stock with your mileage I would replace.
If the problem was not there before the K&N setup then you might look at that closely. Make sure the IAT sensor is good and tight. Also, some filter oil may have contaminated your MAF sensor hot wire element so try cleaning it first with MAF spray or electrical contact cleaner.
If the SES is staying lit get it scanned for any odb-ii DTCs.

the light goes on and off periodicaly i had it erased once. i got it scaed the day it came on. it was pretty chilly out that morning. it said i was running to rich. the only time i see it come on is in the morning or at night when its cold thats why im think its messing up my air fuel ratio

What brand intake did you install? I've heard of problems on some of them. A flaky MAF may cause a lean or rich fuel trim to the fuel injection system but it appears to be air intake mod related.
You may need a re-programmed PCM module to solve the problem.

Sounds like your transmission is slipping on the 1-2 shift. Might be time for a rebuild.
