i will be putting a new motor in my 2001 Z24 with a standard transmission, i was wondering if anyone has done this before, and if so, do they know where i can find a good manual to do it? also, a list of tools needed would be helpful, because i dont know what i need.

Get lots of zip lock bags, glad containers, a good sharpie marker, masking tape. When you remove the bolts, lines and everything, Use the masking tape and label everything. It will take you more time, but when you install the new motor, you won't have to deal with confusion on putting the puzzle back together. But a haynes manual is pretty deacent. I have recently aquired the GM one. :)

Just get your basics, metric sockets, short and deep, metric wrenches, pliers, needle nose pliers, adjustable wrench, etc. etc. and anything else you can think of that you might need. It's not like you're gonna be in a rush to go out somewhere if you're engine's apart, so if you need something else just have another ride lined up and get it when you have to.
