I have problem with my vents. Air will blow to the defrost and floor regardless of the switch position. My vacuum line is not connected to the exhaust port. I guess it needs to be connected to the exhaust to create vacuum. 95 S-10 blazer two door V-6. Where on the engine is the vacuum connected to?

The vacuum line connects to the intake, not exhaust. Look under your hood you may find a diagram there for the vacuum hoses.
Usually the hoses get brittle and break off at the heater or heater controller under the dash, in which case one can usually hear the vacuum leak.

chek all vacuum hoses in the engine bay and check where they attach to the vacuum ball.
