Driver Side Seat Belt

Hello everyone,
Well...my lap seat belt got stuck in the open position. So I found where the belt recoils to and noticed that there was a yellow case on the side of where belt rolls up with a coiled spring inside of it. This piece is broken. (I tried to rig it so it would work again, but I wasn't sure how safe that would be.) Then, I stopped into the local auto parts stores and none carried this piece. My question is...Is this a piece I can buy or do I need to replace the whole seatbelt? Also...If I need to replace the whole seatbelt assembly, is it fairly easy to replace on my own or should I pay a shop and how much (ballpark).
Thanks for any responses!!

Whats the year??
Anyway, I seriously doubt that a regular parts store anywhere would have it. The dealer might, depending on the age of the car but even then I'm not sure. Your best bet would be to get the whole assembly from a junkyard. Depending on the year, I can scan an exploded view of how the belt is installed in the door (note the age of my car, my manuals are for it).

Sorry, I forgot to mention that. It is a 1997.

97, eh? The dealer would probably have the whole assembly (would be pricey though) and they *might* have that one particular part, but doubtful. However, the odds of a junkyard having one is pretty high considering the car isn't too old.
As for my manual, it woulnd't do you much good for showing how to pull apart the door as the manual is too old.

I believe you are looking at the seat belt pretensioner which is part of the air bag system.

Hit the dealer, and then bend over when they hit you back...

My 92 seat belt is missing or has a broken clip inside the lap holder part where you push the button to release the strap. Do you have a parts break down for my driver side lap belt release?
