speedo probs

can anyone help me with speedo problem ...problem being it doesnt work it now and again jumps up and down and then goes back to zero and stops working for another week or so.im driving an r reg megane if anyone has a solution im a bit wary of going to renault because they charge a fortune.

hi there got exactly the same prob with my 97 megane garage are saying i need a new dash at over £400. Did u discover what the problem with it was? any help would be gratefully received cheers

open you bonnet and look at the drivers side of the engine bay in the compartment under the window you will see a black box remove the cover you will find wiring that is broken that should sort it

hi got the same problem speedo sits at correct speed then goes nuts all over the shop

under the black cover is a whit multy plug corrotion can set in with the connections bye pass the plug that should sort it
