Race gas and 93 octane difference

Is it really worth running race gas over 93 octane for a high output motor?
I have a 2.3 stroker 6 bolt built and blueprinted motor with a GT3071R (84trim 0.82 A/R). I am running around 475-500hp and want to know if I were to use race gas, would it be better for my application?

Thanks
Ben

Just for tuning purposes... You won't have to worry about it knocking as bad with the higher octane you run. I believe that 93 will work fine with the proper tuning. Unless your gonna run like 35psi at the track, then you will definetly need race fuel. lol

You wont be making 475-500hp on pump gas especially with 850cc injectors. I wouldnt push past 22-23psi on 93 octane either.

You dont have to run race gas all the time, just when you race or are tuning the car. Then when you are on the street daily driving, just put 93 octane in it.

You have 500 hp and you are asking the difference between race gas and pump gas?

I typically see a 5mph and 5 tenths gain going to race gas, but it all comes down to how far you can push the turbo on pump gas vs how much is left in it. With the EVO I'm able to max out the airflow on pump gas, so there is very little left to reach for with the race gas.

One thing that stands out to me is your motor and turbo combo. The 3071 flows about 52 lbs/min, which a stroker will achieve at about 21 psi, and on pump gas all day long, in my experience. So I'm not surprised at all bu 475-500 whp on pump, especially if this includes the 50 shot in your sig. I don't see race gas being a big help here. Maybe some unleaded added just for safety buffer when pushing the tuning to the limits.

To touch on some other points made in this thread:

-850s are more than enough for this turbo.
-It is unlikely that this turbo will hold over 21 psi at 8k rpm.
