Hello! I am new at this forum. And i would like to show you my project. Its a scratchbuild project.I'm buildin an old russian truck named Gaz 51.
http://www.gaz.co.yu/istorijat/Gaz51.jpg
Heres the frame, which was the first thing i made for this truck.
http://img235.imageshack.us/img235/9485/gaz51ehitus001gs9.th.jpg (http://img235.imageshack.us/my.php?image=gaz51ehitus001gs9.jpg)
The next thing i made were leavesprings and a rear axle.
Leavesprings: http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/1542/gazirattad011jc0.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
And rear axle with rear wheels: http://img107.imageshack.us/img107/5993/gazirattad012zt5.jpg (http://imageshack.us)Then i detailed the rear axle by adding the bolts.
http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/6072/gazirattad015sp3.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
And heres the painted one:
http://img476.imageshack.us/img476/2349/gazirattad018wh0.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
And i hope you forgive me,the rough edges on that build.Because I live in Estonia and there is no model car stores here, where the detailmaster parts and sheet styrene and all these other things are sold.We have to make everything by ourselves. To make the leavesprings i used the plastic i got from old creditcards and phonecards.
Tell me what you think!

First of all: Welcome!
Very interesting project! I've a lot of respect for all the scratchwork.
How will you make the cab of the truck? Are you gonna use a model for it or also scratchbuild it?
Maybe you can order some parts in Japan or something. I know www.hlj.com is a very good online shop. Good service!
Kris.

Thats amazing. And you do that with nothing but plastic sheet, because i know i would never survive without my local hobby store for kits and parts. If you do need parts that you cant scratchbuild the as Kris says you should use www.hlj.com (http://www.hlj.com) as they will post to almost anywhere, (a mate of mine who now lives in northern iceland can get stuff from hlj shipped to him.)
Good luck with the rest o the build. Cant wait to see more.

Beautiful building! Astounding that you made some of that from credit cards and such.
What materials are you using for the cab? And how are you holding them together?

Great work for not having the right materials. Try www.towerhobbies.com for your supplies, they have pretty much everything except for the real 'specialty' stuff.

It is metal.Almost same that is used to make computer cases. But only thinner.
I glue at first. And then i cover it with putty. Then its together strongly.
And here are the pics about the hood.
