i was on way home from the races and turned on hi-beams to see the on-ramp to interstate, and went to turn them off and all 4 lights just flashed and all 4 came back on. any idea how/why it would turn on and not go back off. i tried several times to get it to turn off.
also both horn buttons on the wheel dont work. but they havnt for i dont know how long, didnt know they were broke til i needed my inspection.
i do have the tilt steering, but i have only moved it once, and thats when i got the car, and it hasnt moved since. so didnt think i pinched a wire. hopefully this is a simple fix, without having to pull the steering wheel(cause i dont wanna risk triggering the air-bag) if i have to i just go broke for a while and take it to shop and get that stuff fixed & fix my fuel pump thats going out.
thanx for any help

My car has a similar problem right now. I can turn my high beams on fine, but they won't turn off. They sometimes turn off when I tilt the steering wheel all the way up. I think its a bent rod in the column. Apparently, its a common problem. So I am probably going to dig into the column this fall.
If/when you do it, disconnect the battery and pull the air bag fuse from the fuse box (look in your owner's manual).

not sure how a rod or anything else could get bent, or pinched wires. when its not been moved. only times i turn them on is when im trying to get on interstate at night when i leave the races(when i get to go to the races) cause the onramp is so small and S shaped with no lights near enough to show it just a few relfectors to show it at night, but u cant see them from a distance to slow know when to slow/speed up to get on.
i didnt want to chance pullin the wheel due to the airbag, even with pulling the fuse & unhooking battery. i dont wanna blow the bag since thats 2 much to replace. also i dont like working inside the steering column, have done it with old truck i had(horn would honk when u made left turns). im thinking of just unhooking the hi-beam bulbs for a week or 2 til next check and maybe have to take car in to shop. its getting worse with my fuel pump actin up. prolly get alot better fuel milage with new one average about 21-23mpg depending on if where im driving.
