What would be the price of a 6st gen D16?? engine? It's the one that comes in the coupés and Del sols. With +/-50000 km or less....

I was tinking of changing my D14 for a D16. I think they will not notice it at the anual technical control if I make some adjustments on the D16:D
But I'm only going to do this if I can find one really cheap. If it really is 500 euro it would be one of the cheapest ways to get an extra 35hp.

90hp for the moment. But I'm only going trough with this if I can get a good deal on the engine + if I can install it at a friend who has all the tools for it (but he is going into surgery next month so???)

Yeah I wanted to swap my D16D6 for a B16A engine
but therew ould be so much things I would be changing or getting new
that the costs would be to high
So my mechanic gave me some good advice "save your money for a real VTEC" :D

I think the cost for my car would be reasonable. I'm swapping a D series for another D series, so the engine mounts would be the same. I also think my brakes are the same as on the higher models (offcourse not the VTi), can someone verify this?
I really need to find some more info on this before (if) it goes trough. But it would be an engine that, with a quick inspection, looks like a D14.

I've been away for a while... here I am again... I'm going to post some pics of my new motor I bought.. also a honda :D ... kind of an offroad, a transalp... not the fastest and most powerfull, but still in 5.x sec. to 100km /h !
Maybe you can look at http://www.honda.co.uk/owner/service.html
there are some service manuals online (only 3 now, more cars to come), maybe you can compare the parts of your car there with the other versions ???

Hi everyone!
Goosse, the easiest way I found of getting the D16 engine was to sell my old car and buy the coupe with the engine in it :D
The difference between the D14 & D16 is sweet. As soon as I get working on the engine it should make big improvements.

Still too slow??? you're in about 8.4 sec. to 100km/h... You have to use the right pedal, not the left! :D

myself i dont see the point in transplanting an engine unless its somthing u cant buy as standard ... too much work and things can go wrong .. if ya buy a car with a d16 as standard then u will have much less problems ...
but if ya r gonna do an engine swap hehe do the b16 :)
but then again if ya got someone who knows what they r doing then its all good i guess hehe ... cos by reading your post it looks like u cant be arsed with the insurance costs of a bigger engine hehe ..

reason's why I want the D16 instead of the B16
-the engine has to look like the D14 otherwhise I get a red card at the technical control if they find out it's not the D14
-less parts I have to buy with the D16, no B-series engine mounts, brakes (?), gear box...
-35-40 hp extra:D
-their are some guys around here who want to risk building a B16 into a D16 so the engine isn't that hard to find.
-D16 better base for building up then a D14... (JRSC in the future???)

So you are thinking of Super Charging your car if you have the upgrade
I was thinking about it to, until I saw the price for the SuperCharger for my D16
It was about 3500 dollars or something :D
Better save my money for a a B16 car and maybe then SC it ;)

I did some checking up on the site of Jackson Racing about the SuperChargers for the 4th Gen Civic
And this is what I found
$2,695.00 Jackson Racing Supercharger System - Civic
1988-91 - EX, SI - D16A6
It doesnt say anything about a 4th Gen VTi version of the JRSC
But if I want it that is the price to pay for my car, its like 2 times more then what I paid for for the purchase of my car :D
Heres the full link to the site where I found the prices
