Mclaren vs: Supra

Okay I know it was a post at CF that somebody had made but I didn't have my high speed modem yet and I was wondering if anybody had a link :)

Okay, so I'm a huge Supra fan. And there are very few cars on earth that I would take over a Supra. But come on!! A Supra versus a McLaren?? Keeping in mind that new, the McLaren costs about 30 times as much as the Toyota, I have to take the F1 as the hands-down, no-brainer choice.

Yeah, that video is awesome! It spanks that supra! Kills it! The McLaren is such a completely obvious choice.

However, if you want to modify it and have some fun tweaking it, the Supra is such a great choice, out of any car.

But, the F1 is just, well, pure sux, and complete perfection.

I prefer to take a Supra and hop it up with the several hundred thousand dollars left in profits from not taking that McLaren. Oh, yead, I'd rip off the shit-ugly body kit, too.

There is no need to mod the McLaren. Putting anything like twin-turbos would probably put fractures in your bones while accelerating.

Apparantly you haven't seen the video...The guy in the McLaren KILLS the Veilside Supra...and laughs while he does it.

Besides...any joe schmoe can get a supra. But, a Mclaren F freakin' 1! C'mon.

I can help ya. I don't know how to post links and such (See how incompetant I am) but here's what to do.

2. After the results turn up click on the one that says "Videocraz" with the subtitle "Mclaren F1 vs: Supra" there's about 15 godd movies there, Including a Supra doing 328 km/h!

McLaren, c'mon. It has 50K worth of gold on the engine because it dissipates heat well. The muffler is 18K.
TT's would be cool, but it struggles for grip already, so accelleration wouldn't change much, but top speed would go up, as would acceleration over 130mph (I read an article on a LM, and it struggled for grip at 100mph!)

You can mod things, but they still won't touch a McLaren!!!:D

For good reason:

1. It is powerful and fast enough already.
2. Who will make the aftermarket parts
3. I doubt there is anything better than the parts they use. Like the 18k muffler.
4. There's only 98 left, so why would you mod it and make it different from original. There pure race cars anyways, there ain't much you can do to make it better. It's kinda like putting Superman on Steroids.

If i pay a million dollors for a car it better be able to walk a Supra.

Try right clicking and click save as. If that doesnt work, try looking on google.

if it was a reeeeeeeaaaaaalllllllllyyyyy heavily modded supra, it is possible for it to be better than a mclaren

I believe the Supra was heavily modded, thats why it went so fast. I think it had over 700 hp, mybe 900. No matter, the McLaren would spank it in any category, anytime.:cool:

This is lame. rotflmao... :p The Supra has to be over worked to race car like preformance just to compete with the F1, which was made for 1/4 miles, track days etc. Those are about as stressful as a morning jog to the F1. To go at those insain speeds you have to mod the Supra to the point that's it's basicaly a race car, which won't really last long. Where as the McLaren F1 will last "forever." ;) Plus, what's the big deal, Corvettes and Ferraris can be tuned to give McLaren F1 preformace. Why the Supra? :rolleyes: lol It's like compairing a guy that works out and is in great shape etc. to a US Navy Seal. The poor body builder is strong but his endurance and preformance under pressure can't be matched by a trained pro who endured "Hell Week" at training. One guy can lift 300lbs. but the other can too, not to mention he knows how to kill a person with out a weapon, under 10 seconds, in over 20 ways and situations. More horsepower was the key to all design flaws in Enzo Ferrari's day but not in ours. Take that moded Supra and the F1 to a track like Sears Point. What car will you bet your money on? A car great car or a great car made to shave 10 seconds off your lap time each time you rev it's V12 down the straightaways?

that's retarded, yes you would mod it to be a race car, just like the mclaren is a race car. just the mclaren was modded in the factory while the supra is done by the owner. Yes you could mod a Ferrari to be mclaren like but we're saying you could do it to a Supra for far less.

and if there was a $750,000 modded supra, that's only 3/4 of the price of the mclaren, then i would put my money on the supra, without a thought about the mclaren

in a car that u would drive for years and expect reliability from the Mclaren would be the choice cause it has a n\a V12 no stress on the motor plus its all stock

now with the Supra u have twin turbos on the V6 which is half the size putting a lot of stress on it so it wont last as long but a modified Supra can and will beat a McLaren F1

some of u guys talk like it takes millions of Dollars to make a Supra as fast or faster than a Mclaren, a McLaren cost a mil the supra cost probably 1/10 that modified to the max, some can run 8's at the track
what do McLarens run?

a bone stock F1 runs 11.1. modify any car and it will run the 1/4 mile in 9 seconds. what stock car is going to run 11 second runs? and anyways, who would want a car that can only go fast in a straight line. i haven't seen that F1 vs. supra vid(POS computer) but i would very confindently say that the F1 would annihilate the supra. i dont know why everybody thinks that a car's 1/4 mile time shows its performance. drag racing is boring and it requires the least amount of skill. now i know not just anyone can go run a fast time in one of those drag racers, but i do think it would be easier, much, easier than driving in ALMS, heck, even NASCAR. so anyways, 1/4 mile time means jack.

There are a few things you should still know though. For one us kids only can do so much. Race tracks are usually hours from where we live and dragging illegally on the streets is about all we can do....so we do that. Yeah of course any car can be made faster then a Mclaren and that was the point. And if you can make a 40,000 sports car faster then a 1,000,000 sports car, I am sure you can make it handle better also. So the point of that topic was worthless, your more or less comparing cars that are equal butt bone stock such as a TT 300zx and a TT Supra because obviously that discussion was pointless =)

The Supra is an INLINE 6. You should be burned for mistaking an i6 and a V6.

Next, we all so the video, the McLaren own. Only the JGTC Supras are faster because THEY ARE RACING CARS!!!!!!

God, you kids think everything you see in Fast and Furious is for real. :rolleyes: It doesn't have the displacment!!!!! A $167k Viper does the quarter mile at 9.99 right under ten seconds. The twin turbos enhance the already powerful 7990cc V10. The 3 liter inline 6 with have to have a lot of upgrades to make that kind of thrust, inturn all of those upgrades become downgrades because it's just a track car then. You can use the F1 every day for crying out loud. What's that? That's what your saying? It'll what? It'll be less reliable than an F1? NOOOOO???? Really???

oh come on Nickkzx. you don't have any tracks in southern california?? not even a dragstrip?? i seriously doubt that you don't have any of those near you. just yesterday i went to an autocross event. they have an autox at least once a month, you could join one of those. don't tell me there's nowhere to go so you just race in downtown LA with no traffic or cops(TFATF), that's just retarded. if you really wanted to race on a real track you wouldnt mind taking the occasional trip to the nearest track, but you're obviously one of those guys who just wants to street race which is IMO gay.

trust me I have friends with 20k put into engines, they run cars in 11 seconds with twin turbo motors. My friend has a Honda Accord running 13's with 4 grand into the engine....you can make any car just as fast or faster and just as reliable or even more then a Mclaren....its just a car designed for a rich guy with a small dick and no mechanical knowledge to purchase because he can drive it, and make up for what he doesnt have =)

You saying that rice is better than a Mclaren F1? It takes skills to use one mos t people know that and it was a Road Race Car not a Super Expensive Exotic to be driven by Small-Dicked Richguys, your paying for the performance and the right to the Wrold's fastest production car. oh, forgot. Did anyone else see the ETs on the video? The McLaren ran an 11.04, with the supra running a 12.7...hmmm...looks like either it wasn't that heavily modded, or it really was the Veilside with major traction problems.
