I have seen a few diffrent cluster swaps. Can anybody tell me the diffrence, as in Can i use either or in my 89 DX?

and
I dont have a picture of the other one, the sites not working, but it has the tach on the left side, the speedometer in the center, and water temp, gas, and picture of the car in the left.

Any Help? Thanks :(

you can do the SIR cluster, im pretty sure you have to rewire though.

if you get a 88-89 SI/LX Cluster it'll be plug n play. Just take old one out and put new one in, no mods at all.

If you get a 90-91 SI/LX/EX cluster you'll hav eto rewire a lil from what i've heard.

I think I will just stick with the 88-89 si one, there is a junkyard by me that has them for 50.00.

The SiR one should bolt up no problems - wiring to a non-B series motor might take a little more work though as I understand that it has a few signals running off it to the ECU.

Anyway, - this is what they look like ('cept it has more kilometers on it since I took this pic - 221,000 actually)

Are you talking about replacing the whole gauge cluister and pod that it sits in? I can tell you this, the 88-89 clusters are squared in shape compared to the 90-91 which are more rounded. I have always been told that you need a cluster from the appropriate shape cluster. Unless swapping the whole outter shell is possible.

So if i get the SiR one, and im doing a b16a swap, So i should be good? Would it be easier to just get a new harness, i think mine might be bad.

Im almost positive that you'll still have to rewire the cluster.

Dunno if this helps, but if you go to the downloads page here: http://www.hondacrx.co.uk/ you will find the EE8 CRX VTEC manual an dsupplement. I use it for my EF9 and so far it's 99% useful, Especially for trouble shooting the B16A. Does the EE8/9 have the same cluster as the EF8/EF9? Shoutout to the Euro guys - any ideas?
