Big Cypress Preserve, FL

Thought I'd share a couple of pictures of our day trip to Big Cypress National Preserve, which can be accessed from US 41 or SR 29 in Collier County FL. It's about an hour from Miami/Ft. Lauderdale or Ft. Myers. We did not have a permit for the backcountry near Bear Island Campground, so we stuck to the scenic gravel roads between 29 and Turner River Road. There are many more scenic trails in this area which is adjacent to Everglades National Park. I took the TJ. It was very wet and several portions of the road were immersed in shallow water. Several other vehicles turned around, but this was easy driving.
