welp, GTP killed another pony

me and a friend of mine went lookin for some fun this evening at about 1 am or so. we cruised up and down the local street racing area and found nothing, finally at about 2 or so we decided to head home. so we head that way and next thing we know a mustang(later found out it was a 99), goes flying by us going the opposite direction! so i whip a quick u turn and give chase. after hitting some lights, we finally catch up to him about 2 miles down the road. we get up beside him and i pace him til he gets the picture, once he realized what i wanted we were doing about 40. he downshifted and broke loose, so being the good sport i am i let him get traction(he REALLY lost traction) and we sped up to about 55, then went. i jumped about a half a car on him, and we stayed like that til about 115, when i shut down. overall a very fun race. so i rolled down my window and told him to go to a parking lot to talk. when we got their i realized it was a kid i graduated with! i hadnt seen him in a LONG time, so we bs'd about the cars for awhile. he had a CAI, bigger injectors, exaust, and power programmer. i told him what i had and he was very surprised to have lost to a v6. i told him next we we will go from a dig, we didnt have time this time cuz he had to run somewhere, i will keep you guys posted on round 2:evillol:

someone told me they're bringing back the grand prix's in a year or two with a 360hp option. you heard anything about that? here's what the kid said:

"in the new motor trend they show the new grand prix..... they are bringing it back........it says its gonna have 360 at the wheels and 350 torqe its not on the net yet though so go get the mag"

that sounds like it'd be pretty sick,, i wish they'd bring back a blown grand am too :lol:

yea they're gonna have a V-8 option for the gtp now, awesome.

yea they do havea v8 option but its only 303 horse. i havent heard of the 360 one:uhoh: , but it sounds fun

actually the grand prix is about to come to an end, and will be replaced by the new G8 which will be based off of the Holden Commodore, which houses a 400hp LS2 and is RWD... Much better than the current GXPs 303hp 5.3L and wrong wheel drive, I mean front wheel drive...

nah that's not the case, just some races aren't worth mentioning, cuz some of them are just run of the mill races.

I am actually looking at getting into a different car in the near future- the GP GTP and the Stang GT are two of my options.
I thought the stang woulda had ya considering the mods the guy had. seemed like a close race though.
I'd like to see what the outcome would be if you wen't from a dig, I think he woulda had ya. Then again there's only one way to find out

Ask yourself this 1 question...what info is available in print and not on the net....???? No seriously...if I was determined enough I could probably find Donald Rumsfeld's home number on teh web,...and you think they wont have the newest stats of the GTP?

Sorry, guess I didn't really make my point clear. It was just don't trust everything you hear. Every 5 minutes I hear rumors about a '07 Supra, or an '08 3000gt, or an '09 Grand National. lol. Some may pan out, but if you can't find anything on the net about it, then I'd just take it as hearsay, you know? Just my .02

i wouldn't say it's just hearsay. It's the front page of the newest Motor Trend, and it's on their website. It's not a done deal, but it would be the Holden Commodore SS V. It might also be renamed the G8, with 360 hp.

Saw it as well, just at Wal Mart, Front cover story. Said all we need is for GM to give it the OK.
