My 95 Eagle Talon Had the Engine Light on and I Tightined the battery Cable, Which made the Light go off. Now the engine light came back on. battery cables are tight and everything. About when I ws getting ready to give up and go get help from a pro. on the way to the auto store The light went off.so as I was going back home the car just starts smoking to beat hell I can see big puffs come from behind the car looking from the mirros.What the hell I do now?
Please help i dont have anything to drive, and no way to go to work

what color is the smoke? White? Gray? Gray-blue? Blue? Black? When does it smoke. We need alot more info and this needs to be in problem diagnosis.

The color of the smoke is and grayish-black. It does it the whole time it is running, and sorry im new to these boards.

Check your front 02 sensor. I bet it's dead, causing your car to run in a really rich safe mode. Rich enough to send unburnt fuel through the exhaust.

Me too. What would a downstream o2 sensor do if it shit the bed?

Throw a dtc, it's only there to test if the cat is working.

Did you have Autozone or somewhere get the CEL code with a scanner? That would be the thing to do now so you know exactly what kind of problem the motor has so we can get a better guess at what to try next.
