be sure to pay attention to the tread rating number. higher the number, the longer the tread should last. i'm running Yokohama Avid V4S tires with a 500AA tread rating.
you can read more about tire ratings and other stuff here http://www.safercars.gov/Tires/Index.htm.
also, the Uniform Tire Quality Grading System (UTQGS) (http://www.safercars.gov/Tires/pages/TireRatings.cfm) is well explained there as well.

Kumho Ecsta ASX (http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findTireDetail.do?mk=&yr=1994&cf=false&sw=false&cs=245&pc=33371&rd=18&vid=003882&ar=40).
420AA. pretty good rating for the price.
i think discount tire direct does free shipping.

tirerack is having a sale on Bridgestone Potenzas for like 150 i think. Those are phenomenal tires, assuming your not gonna be driving in the winter.

I have the Yokohama Avid V4Ss as well and love 'em! And yes, discounttires do free shipping. Really quick too for free shipping! And if you need them soon, you should call to order since it'll be processed faster (or at least that's what the guy said).

sLADe, how long have you had your tires (months, miles)? how much tread is left?

They're still pretty much brand new. I've had them on for less than a month (got 'em installed on August 11) so I guess a lot of thread still left. I'll check to give you the exact miles tomorrow....

I have Sumitomo HTRZIIs from tirerack, the 18"s were around $125 each if I remember right. They aren't bad. I've been running them since I got hte vr4. I'm gonna try something else next time around, but for the price they aren't bad. Just be aware they aren't ideal for driving in the snow.
