P1125 TPS signal intermittant

I just got this code and it sent the car into limp mode. I was able to turn the car off and on to get it out of limp mode.
I have been having idle problems on start up for a little while. The idle would start at 1300 rpm then drop to 300 without stalling then shoot back up to 1300 rpm.
I just had the alt changed. The code came up once with the old alt and now once with the new one.

On a 2000 Rodeo 3.2 you have to use a scanning computer to check the TPS. I am in mortal fear of going to the dealership. So my question is will swapping out the TPS work or is computer programming needed? Has anybody else had this problem?

You don't need a scan tool to check the TPS, you just need an ohm meter and some T-pins. I've been thinking of doing a little how-to on this so I think I'll do that.

John, as far as I know the throttle position sensor is integrated into the electronic throttle?!? Hopefully not though. There is also an accelerator pedal postion sensor on the TBW equipped zu's, but those will throw their own code. Maybe check the wiring to the TB and do a cleaning on it.
