Alright everyone, I had the ENTIRE summer off, and am going back to work Monday...teaching the little brats (I mean wonderful kids). Just bought a house (moved in last weekend), own a beautiful G, and just need some support. I'm nervous about going back to work. I taught 5th grade last year, 3rd grade this year, and I AM NERVOUS! One good thing, is all the faculty, staff, and students LOVE my ride :) Just wanted to post to get some support...love you all!!!!!

geez laurie,
you love cars and drinking six packs. isn't that everyman's dream on automotive forums? btw, this is not some cheap pick up line.
i teach 6th grade in la. i go back afer labor day. third graders are entirely different creatures than fifth graders. you'd have to double my salary to teach third graders through fifth graders. sixth graders are immature enough. i'll eventually teach high school but right now i look too young. the other day i was handing out information for sixth grade orientation and one of the after school program people asked me to sign up.
good luck.

Must say teaching is a job you can keep !!!
I know in this country and having my own kids at school that the teachers paye is crap for the things they have to put up with.
Stay postive and you'll be right though.
Once Monday is over you'll be back in the swing of it again....like riding a bike.....once you know how, you never forget

Oh God Teaching ... Love it or leave it .....
I was a subsitiute teacher Back in NJ. I loved the 1-5 th grade after that Monsters ....lol
I also taught the A+ Certification program for Goodwill Industries of Southern NJ. I loved it becuase I was teaching something that I loved. The student were between 18 - 50. They were really motivated because they wanted to get a job. ( I knew nothing about cars then and one of my former students who was a mechanic informed me that my first g20 had no carberateor as he was almost dying from laughter when I mentioned that I could not find it ...lol)
I work for FPL now and occasionally do the computer training for new employees ( which is ok ) and the executives when they roll out a new computer system ( I hate it because they don't listen and think they know everything )
Good Luck ... you will do fine ...
