Replaced shocks - a few questions

I replaced the shocks on my 2001 2WD Rodeo today. Thanks to all past posters - it made the job easier. I used Monroe Sensatracs as suggested by many.

I have a few questions...

I noticed - when doing the last one of course, that I had put all of the washers on with the cupped side towards the bushings. That is opposite of the way the factory washers were put on. Will that make any difference? Should I take the time to undo, and flip them all over?

Also, how much should I tighten the top nuts? The bushings were squeezed quite a bit. It didn't really look like the factory bushings were smashed any. It never felt difficult to turn the nut, but the bushings were beginning to bulge quite a bit, so I stopped. Thoughts on that?

I wouldn't sweat the way the 'cup' faces. I think I did the same thing when I changed the factories out on my 2002. I just tighten them enough to start to squish the grommets.

I've always put the cupped side of the washers towards the bushings. Never been told otherwise and never had a problem. I always tighten them until the bushing diameter is about the same as the washers.
