ok, i posted a looooooong time ago saying i was ready to buy an A4....which was kinda true and kinda not. I really want one, but I still love my car and just had trouble parting with it! I said i was selling it, but i didn't really make much effort to do that...hee hee. But ok, now i'm really ready, and i've posted ads for my car in the paper and wherever they will let me do so for free.

My dilemma is this now....I really had my heart set on a 99+ A4, and i've heard nothing but good things about them, both from industry reviews and reviews and comments from people who own them. Some of my boyfriend's customers own A4's however, and according to him, they say that they've had a lot of problems with it. As much as I love my Prelude, it was one problem after another with it, and i want as worry-free of a car as possible. Can anyone tell me what kind of problems, if any, that I can expect?

I don't know... coming from a Honda I don't think anything gets more reliable than that. Maybe your lude was a lemon? I have a Consumer Reports magazine that rates reliability for everycar. It gave the 99 A4 average (electircal problems) and it only rated the 97 and 98 prelude. The preludes got red checks which is better than what the audi got, and was rated exceptional(well above average). I love european cars, they are my favorite but because I can't afford repairing another one. I'm going to have to look into the japanese market. Nissans look great reliability wise so I'll go with the Infiniti G20. I realy like the A4s also except I like the 98 body style more. I had to stay away from them, and the Volkswagen GTI because the reliability was rated average. I think the best thing to do is lease and Audi, and once the warrenty is expired get rid of it, quickly.
