2000 Keyless Entry

Does anyone know if the factory radio has to be installed in order for the keyless entry to operate on a 2000 CR-V?

I'm going to answer my own question. I have a 2000 CRV EX. The factory radio does not have to be installed to add the keyless entry. Evidently the electronics are already in place because all I had to do was program the key fobs. It worked perfectly.
