I am looking into getting a new car in about a couple of months. Right now I have a lame 95 Honda Civic DX. If you could tell me which of these you like the best and why I would greatly appreciate it!
Honda s2000
Volkswagen Jetta vr6 (sedan)
Toyota mr2 spyder
Mazda rx8
Lexus is 300
Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder
Plz keep in mind all these cars that I am looking at are around 00-05.
Oh, also if you feel that there is another car around this price range that you think I should also consider, feel free to put that up along with one of these I already have up here. Thx!

I would choose either the S2000, the Rex 8 or the IS 300. But basically what are you looking for in a car??

Truthfully it doesn't matter to much, I would like to be able to upgrade it...I like all of these cars and any one I get I can go certain ways with them. So I mean whatever every one is feeling is what I need, and that is opions. I wouldn't mind a quick/fast car so...anything to help my decision.

Honda s2000 - not a fan of convertibles but nice car. overpriced though. good performance.
Volkswagen Jetta vr6 (sedan) - family car.
Toyota mr2 spyder - crappy compared to the previous gen mr2 turbo. but still a pretty nice car, reliable, very light, fun to drive, chick styling thjough.
Mazda rx8 - my pick, best handling, 2nd best acceleration, best looks.
Lexus is 300 - nice car for a dd, sharp, reliable, roomy, not for performance though.
Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder - an overweight porker, poor handling, prolly sub par reliability, looks pretty good, decent acceleration with the v6. (all thjis asuming its the newest model)

go with the rx8 but if you want realibilty then go with the s2k. cause even though mazda says that the rx8 rotoary engine is suppuse to be better realibty it is still a rotary engine.

This is just my humble barely informed opinion buuut... go with the RX8. They look nice. Upgradable(?) and they are pretty fast.

Since it is crystal clear that you are not looking for a true proformance machine and trying to find a stylish peppy car I would go with the IS 300 beauthful styling, refined as all hell, more reliable than old faithful. The RX8 and S2000s are duds. Both are just a cheep attempt to recreate the real machines they built in the 90s. If you are going to look like a sportscar, sound like a sportscar, and especaly cost like a sportscar you had better damn well proform like one!

while the rx8 is no rx7 its definitley not a dud. and honda had nothing that resembled the s2000 in the 90s, no japaneesee car did, except the miata. and honda did a fine job if you ask me, considering it will lap similar times to the bmw z4 and base level boxter both of which are way more expensive. would you call the porsche boxter a dud?

if you like the rex's then i'd get an rx-7 and swap it with an LS1. those cars are monsters, and you'd still be spending significantly less than you would on a new rx-8 (overpriced). :2cents:

You also have to keep in mind of how you're going to use these cars. Are these going to be daily drivers, or something taken out on a leisurely cruise? The MR2 and S2000 are probably the most fun cars, but they are also the most impractical - 2 seater with only a little room for luggage.
The RX8 actually has "rear doors" in a sense, so fitting passengers in there will be simple. Also, Instead of a VR6 Jetta, have you ever considered a GTI Mark V?
IMO, I'd get the RX8, fast, practical, and the rotary gives a whole different driving experience than most other cars.

i would say its more attractive but not agressive looking as the 300.. the 300 looks like it is buryin its head at you kinda like the evo's styling... basically i think-- is300 is more performace an dagressive 'looking'.. 3 series is sleek and modern
